Nebraska Achievement Scholarship Guidelines 2021-2022

Nebraska Achievement Scholarship logo
These terms and requirements are effective for Nebraska Achievement Scholarships awarded to new freshmen for the 2021-2022 academic year and subsequent years.  This award provides $1,000 per year toward the cost of UNL undergraduate tuition for up to four consecutive years.
1 Renewal of this scholarship for each subsequent year is dependent upon the recipient maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.500.  Renewal determinations are made at the end of each spring semester.  The University computes grade point averages to three decimal places and does not round.
2 The recipient must enroll full-time (at least 12 UNL credit) during each semester of the academic year (fall and spring semesters).  These hours must be officially registered by the sixth day of classes each semester.
3 The recipient must successfully complete 24 UNL credit hours each academic year (fall and spring semesters). Repeated courses will only count once and must be registered for consecutive semesters (i.e., full-time by sixth day of classes each semester). Attending summer sessions is not required for renewal of this scholarship because it cannot be applied in the summer.
4 The scholarship will be discontinued if the recipient withdraws from school or fails to register for consecutive semesters, unless an exception is granted because of extenuating circumstances.
5 The sum of $500 will be credited to the recipient's student account and will appear on his or her billing statement.  Any student whose total scholarship and/or financial aid awards exceed his or her total institutional charges for a given semester will receive a refund for the difference from the Office of Student Accounts.
6 The scholarship cannot be used for non-credit courses or non-term specific correspondence courses.  Recipients cannot combine this award with the Health Sciences Scholarship.
7 The recipient must be an active participant in the OASIS Student Success Program from the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services (OASIS).

For global experience programs, this scholarship may be applied toward UNL course credit (where tuition is charged). This scholarship cannot be applied toward course credit that will be transferred from another institution. Students may apply for a variety of scholarships specific to global experience programs:
