2025-2026 Estimated Cost of Attendance

Cost of Attendance Notes:

The cost of attendance is a standardized estimate of the expenses a student may incur while attending the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. It includes tuition and fees, housing and food, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses. These estimates are intended to help students and families plan for the academic year.

  • Living expenses (housing and food): estimated based on the average cost of on-campus housing (defaulted to a traditional double room) or typical off-campus rent and utilities. Meal costs are based on the estimated expense of three meals per day. View on-campus housing and food plan billing rates.

    • Note: All incoming first-year students enrolled for six or more credit hours are required to live in approved on-campus housing. Students who enroll but do not meet the on-campus residency requirement will be charged for an unassigned traditional double room.

  • Tuition and fees: estimated based on 15 credit hours per fall/spring semester for undergraduate and law students, and 9 credit hours per fall/spring semester for graduate students.

    • Note: Some colleges, including the College of Business, College of Architecture, and College of Engineering, assess additional differential tuition per course, regardless of major.

  • Personal expenses: includes estimates for transportation, clothing, and other miscellaneous personal costs.

  • Licensure and certification costs: Students in academic programs that lead to professional licensure or certification will see an additional cost allowance included during the final year of their program.
