Our office is here to assist you in navigating changes in income or expenses, exploring specialized programs, appealing for emergency scholarships, and guiding student athletes through the intricacies of financial aid.

Changes in Financial Circumstances

When special circumstances occur that affect your or your family's ability to pay educational expenses, you are encouraged to notify the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. These situations could include loss of employment or loss of untaxed income or benefit. Situations that do not fall into these categories should be described in a letter and sent, along with supporting documentation, to the OSFA for review.

Scholarship Appeals

Students who fail to meet initial scholarship eligibility or renewal criteria are ineligible to receive the corresponding scholarship, but may be awarded or reinstated through a successful appeal. The purpose of measuring and enforcing these standards is to ensure scholarship recipients maintain the academic success that is expected of merit-based scholarships and make progress toward graduation.

Emergency Aid

Financial aid resources for emergencies may be available through funding in your academic unit or through the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. In order to be considered for funds through the OSFA, you can meet with a specialist at Husker Hub.

Student Athletes

Student athletes participating in an NCAA sponsored sport are required to abide by the NCAA rules set forth regarding institutional aid. When a student is awarded academic and athletic scholarships, they must meet specific NCAA criteria in addition to the criteria for the academic award.

Unique Programs of Study or Enrollment

Unique programs of study or enrollment might include intercampus and joint registration, non-degree graduate programs, second undergraduate degree, teacher certification programs and/or consortium agreements.
