These terms and requirements are effective for Nebraska Achievement Community College Scholarships awarded to new transfer students for the 2020-2021 academic year and subsequent years. This award provides $1,000 per year toward the cost of undergraduate tuition for up to two years.
|1||Renewal of this scholarship is dependent upon the recipient maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.500. Renewal determinations are made at the end of your second semester. The University computes grade point averages to three decimal places and does not round.|
|2||The recipient must enroll full-time (at least 12 credit hours) during each semester of the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Of the minimum 12 credit hours, at least nine of those hours must be graded hours. These hours must be officially registered by the sixth day of classes each semester.|
|3||Recipients must successfully complete 24 credit hours each academic year (fall and spring semesters), including the successful completion of at least 9 graded hours each semester. Successful completion is defined as the sum of all UNL credit hours completed with a grade of A through D- or Pass (P). Grades of I, N, W, F, and NR are not considered successfully completed. Repeated courses will only count once and must be registered for consecutive semesters (i.e., full time by sixth day of classes each semester).|
|4||The scholarship will be discontinued if the recipient withdraws from school or fails to register for consecutive semesters, unless an exception is granted because of extenuating circumstances.|
|5||The sum of $500 will be credited to the recipient's student account and will appear on his or her billing statement. Any student whose total scholarship and/or financial aid awards exceed his or her total institutional charges for a given semester will receive a refund for the difference from the Office of Student Accounts.|
The scholarship cannot be used for non-credit courses or non-term specific correspondence courses. Recipients cannot combine this award with the benefit of any other tuition waiver from federal, state or University program (Employee Dependent Waiver). This scholarship cannot be used for courses taken at UNO, UNK or UNMC.
|7||The Nebraska Achievement Community College Scholarship may be applied toward University of Nebraska-Lincoln approved education abroad programs and other inter-institutional cooperative programs taken during the academic year, provided the student receives prior approval from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.|
