Transfer Student Scholarships for Nebraska Residents

For full scholarship consideration, resident transfer students must complete and submit an Admissions Application, Personal Statement, and any additional supporting documentation to the UNL Office of Admissions by March 1st for students beginning in the fall semester and October 1st for students beginning in the spring semester.

Transfer Regents Scholarship
Transfer Regents Scholarships are offered each year to students who graduate from Nebraska high schools and transfer from Nebraska community colleges. To be eligible for these scholarships you must complete the application materials listed above, graduate from a Nebraska high school and community college, have a cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.5 or above, and have completed over 75% of your courses at a Nebraska community college, and have completed 45 credit hours (30 hours accepted toward UNL degree). Scholarships are limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States. UNL Transfer Regents Scholarships provide in-state tuition for up to four semesters, provided recipients maintain a University cumulative grade point average of 3.5, successfully complete 24 credit hours each academic year (fall and spring semesters), and complete a minimum of nine graded hours (not pass/no pass) each semester.

Transfer Student Scholarships

Transfer Student Scholarships provide a $1000 scholarship to students based upon academic performance and involvement at a previous postsecondary institution. For scholarship consideration, students must have completed a minimum of 14 semester hours at the time in which they submit their application.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

This $500 award is available to a student transferring from a Nebraska community college.

Tribal College Scholarship

The Tribal College Scholarship is awarded to associate degree recipients from certain Native American community/tribal colleges and universities. The award provides in-state tuition for up to 120 credit hours (inclusive of all transfer credits) or completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first, provided certain academic criteria is met.

 

Transfer Student Scholarships for Out-of-State Students

For full scholarship consideration, out-of-state transfer students must complete and submit an Admissions Application and any additional supporting documentation to the UNL Office of Admissions by May 1st for students beginning in the fall semester and December 1st for students beginning in the spring semester.

Aaron Douglas Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded to out-of-state students who exhibit superior academic performance. Scholarships provide from $3,500 per year up to $14,000 per year toward the cost of nonresident tuition charges. To be considered, candidates must have completed a minimum of 14 semester hours at the time in which they submit their scholarship application.

Nebraska Legacy Scholarship

Available to children of University of Nebraska graduates, the Nebraska Legacy Scholarship provides qualified applicants with one of two levels of scholarship awards, $14,000 per year or $7,000 per year toward the cost of nonresident tuition charges, for up to three years. A minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0 is required for scholarship consideration. High school performance and standardized test scores are also considered. A student offered the Nebraska Legacy Scholarship must remain an out-of-state student throughout enrollment. To be considered, candidates must have completed a minimum of 14 semester hours at the time in which they submit their scholarship application.
